These Colors Lead the Way

With a new year comes resolutions, expectations and a desire for change. Health habits, organization and fashion all fall under this category.

With clothing, usually the new year starts with articles about dressing for success. A different way of looking at this is using color choice to promote luck and happiness in the new year. Whether or not you are a believer in this, choosing the correct color to wear can make you feel energized.

For many, red is considered the color of success. Most political candidates wear a red tie to convey power and success. Most politicians will wear a red tie during debates or other campaign events.

For women, red is the color for Christmas, and in Chinese culture red is associated with good luck. It can’t hurt to find the shade of red that suits you best.

White no longer is a color for summer. Perfect timing for our fashionable winter whites — white is a color associated with new beginnings. Besides a traditional white blouse, many leather and faux leather jackets are available in white.

Purple is a color that is traditionally associated with royalty. The British monarchy uses purple in crowns and other vestments to signify dignity and power. With so many shades of this popular color available, you can find purple as an accent color and also a choice for a handbag or even in a sweater or a fun pair of boots.

Summer and fall of 2023 saw green stand out as a very popular fashion color. As 2024 gets underway, green is still going strong. According to ColorsExplained.com, green traditionally means harmony, growth, freshness and energy. We bring plants into our homes for a reason, why not add some green to your wardrobe as well? From olive green to evergreen there is a shade for everyone.

If you are looking for a feeling of calm and tranquility, blue is the color for you. Blue is the color of the sky and of the ocean and has long been associated with peace. Both a light blue and a navy blue serve this purpose.

Instead of using black as your main color to accessorize with, change it up with blue. This color comes in so many shades and is flattering on many different skin tones.

It’s the perfect time to try something new!
