Situated near the base of Mummy Mountain in Paradise Valley, this four-bedroom, five-bathroom Santa Barbara-style home was remodeled for a blended family.

Originally built in the 1980s, the house previously had Tuscan-colored interiors, a sunken living room floor and a closed-off floor plan. Now the home sports a timeless and tailored look fulfilled by the crisp white walls and ceilings and dark wood beams accented by Spanish colonial-inspired lighting and era-painted tile.

Repurposing as much of the existing furniture as possible, the designers at Earth & Images stayed true to a simple black and white color palette while incorporating vivid hues of red through the artwork and accessories. Textiles and surface materials such as paprika animal print and black drapery bring an unexpected element of fun throughout the home.

A few stand-out spaces in this 7,500-square-foot home include the kid’s lounge that connects the guest bedrooms and the kitchen, which features a thick butcher-block island functional for both cooking and entertaining.
